MK College CEO & Group Principal, Dr Julie Mills, who is Chair of the Helena Kennedy Foundation –  the FE sector’s influential independent charity – has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

On behalf of the Trustees, President of the Foundation, Baroness Kennedy QC said

‘Julie Mills is one of the most committed FE College Principals in the sector and a woman of integrity and compassion. Julie’s distinguished track record on diversity and inclusion aligns with the values and social purpose of our charity and we are proud to have her as Chair of Trustees. Her recognition in the Queen’s Birthday Honours is richly deserved.’

Former CEO & Principal of Milton Keynes College and  Founder and Vice President of the Helena Kennedy Foundation, Dr Ann Limb CBE DL said

‘I have known and worked with Julie Mills since 1990 and watched her career in FE flourish over nearly 30 years. She is one of the sector’s finest leaders in FE, a dedicated charity chair and someone I am proud to call my friend. I am thrilled that she has been recognized by the award of an OBE’.
