Mica Jayne Coleman Jones
Mica qualified as a teacher in 2013, after receiving a Helena
Kennedy Foundation scholarship award at Edge Hill University in 2009. Mica went on to teach in special schools for 5 years, working predominantly with autistic young people.
In 2018, Mica progressed into senior leadership and has worked as Head of Autism Research and Development at a large specialist school in Liverpool.
In 2021, Mica made the decision to leave working full time in a school with a mission to set up an education trust in memory of her autistic sister Lilya who sadly died following treatment for leukaemia.
Whilst on this journey, Mica works as an independent consultant, providing training and consultancy across education and social care sectors. She is the Chair of Governors at a specialist school in Derbyshire and supports the Helena Kennedy Foundation in her role as trustee.
